Meet Dr. Fischer

Dr. Andrew Fischer is a board-certified internal medicine physician with nearly two decades of experience in primary care, hospital medicine, medical education, and physician leadership. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2005 and began his career as a faculty physician with the Miller School of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University, where he cared for his own panel of patients while teaching and mentoring medical students.

Dr. Fischer later joined JFK Medical Center as an attending physician for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine GME Consortium Internal Medicine Residency Program. His dedication to physician training led to leadership roles within the program, serving first as Associate Program Director and later as Program Director.

Over his career, Dr. Fischer has helped patients manage complex chronic conditions, address acute medical concerns, and implement preventive strategies that support long-term health. He has a special interest in functional medicine, the role of the gut microbiome in health and disease, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into medical care — combining emerging science and innovative technology with evidence-based, human-centered medicine.
